The visit was hugely successful as a family re-union where a myriad of issues were discussed that will eventually advance the course of Cancer advocacy in Nigeria and beyond including key recommendations and ideas on how to strengthen the NCS for the betterment of All members and member Organisations.
The delegation comprises of the Vice President of the NCS/National Cordinator Ciscanen Cmr Elijah H. O. Elijah, Mr Felix and Okpanachi both of CISCANEN,Dr Usman Aliyu Malami (ASG NCS), Mr Luter Ikyobo and Ms Felicia Terdoo Dagu of OCI foundation,Dr Chika-Dibia (Consultant haematologist and CEO of Leukamia Care Plus Initiative). Other notable elders who were part of the delegation are Dr Aminu Magashi Garba (Cordinator, AHBN) and Dr Henry Ewunonu of the Health System Reform Coliation who added some wonderful insights to the visit. It was a fun filled day with clear strategies on how to boost the image of the Society.
This is part of the ongoing advocacy drive of the new administration.
This is part of a series of advocacy engagements to various key stakeholders in the health sector towards changing the narrative of Cancer Care and Advocacy in the country.
During the course of the preceding week the NCS President (accompanied by the National Treasurer-Ms Ogechi Irechukwu) was in Abuja for a crucial meeting with the *OCI foundation and the CDS Department of the NYSC* to advance the course of the partnership towards the national roll out of the *Arm Our Youth (ArOY)* health initiative.(Brain child of the OCI foundation) led by Prof Chris Ifediora.
